We recognize and effectively address our students’ challenges with academic advancement.
These challenges typically do not relate to the content being taught or the student’s ability to comprehend the information. Rather, the challenges we address relate to the students’ capacity to complete coursework within a specified time, efficiently track assignments, navigate the social classroom and translate knowledge into written communication.
Central to our successful classroom dynamic, our teachers are all special education-endorsed with the ability to adeptly perceive the accommodations students require for effective classroom learning within a stimulating environment.
The skills learned in the Sensory Center are translatable to the classroom and help students regulate their attention while engaged in the learning environment. Proactive coaches intervene if a student begins to feel overwhelmed, using co-regulating and teaching skills to facilitate a positive and prompt return to class.
