EDUCATION
The Heritage School academic program is designed to address the specific needs of individual students, in keeping with our mission of serving the whole child intellectually, emotionally and physically in compliance with state, local, and federal laws.
Heritage is fully accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges. Our teachers are certified in secondary education and special education certified.
Academic education is provided directly on campus at the Heritage School.
Heritage identifies and provides the educational resources including, but not limited to:
- Special educational experiences for individual teens whose emotional or learning disabilities make it difficult for them to learn;
- Educational services designed to increase the intellectual and academic development of all students;
- Opportunities to remedy deficiencies in the students' education to date which, in conjunction with their disorders, have caused them to fall behind their peers;
- GED, vocational assessment, and experiences within the Heritage programs and setting to generally enhance students' lives; and
- Educational services that provide accelerated and more challenging academic work for advanced students.
The educational program at Heritage focuses on enabling our diverse student body to acquire a sense of individual self-worth and possibility, in preparation for meaningful and productive adult lives in their communities.
