THE WIZ
The Wiz is Broadway's musical adaptation of Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz. A teenage girl from Kansas is whisked away by a tornado on a colorful adventure, making new friends and meeting challenges along the way. As Dorothy eases on down that yellow brick road to get to the Emerald City, she and her dog, Toto are met by munchkins, crows, trolls, poppies, witches, winkies, funky monkeys, a lion, a tinman, and a scarecrow. She helps her new friends to fulfill their own dreams as she comes to realize "there's no place like home."
Heritage Center Stage presents this year's annual theatrical production, The Wiz. Directed by Pat Davis and featuring the students of Heritage School, performances will be in September 2007. Heritage School and the Heritage Center Stage program were seen on NBC's Dateline July 24, 2005.
